Taylor Mill contracts with Rumpke for all trash and recycling within city limits. Residents are provided with one free 95-gallon or 65-gallon trash cart and one free 65-gallon recycling cart. Additional carts are available for a monthly fee. The fee for regular weekly trash and recycling pickup is included in property taxes.

- Plastic bottles (empty, crush, reattach lid): Bottles and jugs that have a small mouth and wider base, such as milk jugs, soda bottles, laundry detergent bottles, water bottles, shampoo bottles, and contact solution bottles
- Plastic tubs: Containers for butter, sour cream, cottage cheese, yogurt, Jello, and fruit slices fall into the tub category. Plastic lids should be attached before recycling; film or foil lids should be discarded
- Plastic cups (remove/discard straw, reattach lid): Fast food beverage cups - colored party cups are not accepted
- Paperboard (e.g., cereal boxes and clean pizza boxes free of food or grease)
- Cardboard (ream wrappers, file folders, posterboard, frozen food boxes, cardboard boxes, milk cartons)
- Paper: newspaper, magazines, cardboard, mixed office paper and envelopes, paperboard (cereal boxes), pizza boxes free of food debris and grease, telephone books and catalogs
- Paper cups (remove/discard lids, straws and stoppers): Fast food beverage cups, coffee cups, Dixie cups
- Cartons: food and beverage cartons, such as milk, juice, soup, wine, broth, and other cartons

PDS is a “One Stop Shop” agency staffed by professional planners and building officials that provides comprehensive building and zoning services under one roof.

What can't be burned? Most materials are illegal to burn outdoors because they emit harmful air pollutants. Here is a detailed list of what you can and can't burn.

October 1 to December 15 and February 15 to April 30: Burning within 150 feet of any woodland or brushland area is allowed only in the evening hours between 6 p.m. and 6 a.m. No burning is permitted from May 1 through September 30, as a state-wide ban is in effect during that time period.
The City of Taylor Mill requires a permit prior to holding a garage or yard sale. The permit allows 4 one-day sales or 2 two-day sales each year. The payroll tax for the City of Taylor Mill is 2% for individuals who work within the city limits of Taylor Mill, regardless of where you live.

The City of Taylor Mill typically mails annual tax bills to each homeowner in mid-October of each year. Tax payments are due by December 31st of each year. Tax bills cover a 12-month fiscal year from July 1st through June 30th, as opposed to a calendar year. Therefore, the tax bill covers July 1st of the current year through June 30th of the following year. Bills paid after the due date incur a 15% penalty and 15% per annum interest. There is no discount for remitting payment prior to the due date.
