Open Burn

Kentucky has laws to protect public health from outdoor to open burning. Before you light that burn pile, it is important to know what you can and can't burn under Kentucky's open burning regulation. The Kentucky Energy and Environment Cabinet provides detailed information and regulations about Open Burning.

No Open Burning is allowed between May 1st through September 30th.

The Kentucky Energy and Environment Cabinet has placed a ban on open burning from May 1 through September 30th to protect air quality. During ozone season, outdoor burning of household rubbish, brush, tree limbs, leaves, and natural growth from land clearing is not permitted in Boone, Campbell, Kenton County, and other counties. For more information go to: Open Burning - Kentucky Energy and Environment Cabinet.
