Mayor’s Year-end review and plans for the future.

The City of Taylor Mill begins 2018 with reflection over the past year, as well as a fresh set of goals to accomplish to better The City for the future. Taylor Mill had a productive year in 2016 with the opening of the Trifecta, which houses three iconic brands of the Greater Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky area: Skyline Chili, Larosa’s Pizza, and Graeter’s Ice Cream and Bakery. This was the first addition to our business area in many years.

With the opening of the Trifecta Building, also began the jump start in the development of The Districts of Taylor Mill, a 25 year plan that developed in 2008 & 2009.

At the beginning of 2017, Taylor Mill will see growth of new home construction. Gerdes and Flesh Construction recently announced that an additional 60 homes will be constructed over the next several years. That announcement, in addition with continued home construction on Morning Glory, will provide growth to the population base of the city.

Along with new home construction, Taylor Mill will also see the development of the City’s lighting of Pride Parkway, which will enhance the area around I-275 and create a safer route.

Pride Park is also on the radar for some improvements. In 2016, the City introduced the LoveLock LoveScape at Pride Park, inspired by historic brides throughout Europe. It is a place to attach personalized locks as a symbol of everlasting love.

In 2017, The City will continue working on repairing streets in our residential areas. For the last several years, Taylor Mill has added money to the road fund balance to get as many streets updated as financially possible. Having a conservative approach and sound financial management of city funds, we continue to be one of only a few cities that is debt free.

Finally, The City sponsored community events, including the Easter Egg Hunt and Christmas Tree lighting will continue in 2018, along with other community involvement.

In closing, 2018 looks to be an exciting year for The City and we encourage all Taylor Mill residents to check out the website for current events and to watch our commission meetings on TBNK Channel 16 on the second Wednesday of every month.

Thank you.
