National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day: The city of Taylor Mill wishes to express our appreciation for our own TMPD as well as all other police officers and express our continued support of law enforcement. A special recognition day of January 9th is set aside for citizens and organizations to show their support for this vital community service and the brave men and women who so proudly serve its ranks.    You can show your support in a number of ways:• Wear blue clothing in support of law enforcement.• Send a card of support to your local police department or state agency.• Share a story about a positive law enforcement experience on social media.• Ask children in your community to write letters in support of law enforcement.• Participate in Project Blue Light - Proudly display your blue light in support of law enforcement. Most importantly, if you see a police officer, thank a police officer.

City Seeks New Employee for Public Works Department

The city of Taylor Mill seeks a Laborer  for our Public Works Department. This position will be responsible for duties ranging from manual labor to skilled tasks and reports directly to the Public Works Director. 

The ideal candidate will possess proficiency and skill in the operation of power tools and heavy machinery; must be willing to provide excellent customer service and communicate well.  The position requires bending, lifting and moving items more than 50 pounds several times a day.  The work is outside in all weather conditions.  There will be some overtime and call outs on weekends are possible.  Example of some duties include, but not limited to, maintenance, repair, and construction of city streets, sidewalks, buildings, city vehicles; mowing of public right of ways and public property; plowing and salting city streets; upkeep and maintenance of Pride Park and Community Center; as well as other duties as assigned. 

Candidates must possess a high school diploma or equivalency, supplemented by previous work experience; a valid driver’s license; a Commercial Driver’s License is preferred but not required; and demonstrated proficiency in the operation of heavy equipment.

Salary Range (DOQ) is $38,205 to $46,155.20 ($18.37 to $22.19/hour) Plus occasional overtime.
