NKADD and KY Transportation Cabinet Seeks Input: Every day we hear about terrible accidents on our local roads. The NKADD is partnering with the KY Transportation Cabinet’s Technology Transfer Program to develop a comprehensive safety action plan for Boone, Campbell, Carroll, Gallatin, Grant, Kenton, Owen, and Pendleton Counties. The safety action plan aims to reduce and eliminate serious injury and fatal crashes affecting all roadway users. We need your help in identifying safety concerns in our region.  Please take a few moments to complete the NKY Safety Action Plan survey. This survey will be combined with crash analysis and local agency review of roadways to identify potential safety issues on county roadways.  Once identified the NKADD and local counties will work to identify counter measures to improve safety.  The safety action plan will be used to direct local forces and funds and pursue additional funding from KYTC and USDOT.  Here is the survey link."

Kenton County Government Academy

NOW ACCEPTING PARTICIPANTS FOR 2019

As an outreach service to the constituents of Kenton County, citizens are invited to take an inside look into the workings of their county government by participating in the Kenton County Government Academy.

Beginning early January, this ten week course will educate participants about all facets of county government. The program features presentations from local elected officials and administrators, and provides unique “behind-the-scenes” tours of vital governmental facilities.  Some of the topics and visits will include: Fiscal Court, Judicial Branch, Planning and Development Services, School Districts, Health District, Library, Animal Shelter, Local fire and police departments, Kenton County Detention Center, Northern Kentucky Water District, Sanitation District No., Cincinnati/Northern KY International Airport, and much more!

“Our goal is to continue a process where the average citizen will have a clear understanding where their tax dollars go, and how the money gets spent.” said Kenton County Attorney Stacy Tapke.

Over 250 Kenton County residents have graduated from this program. While all have gained valuable knowledge, some have gone on to become city council and committee members, volunteers, and leaders within their own communities.
